Volunteers are the backbone of our programs and comprise the majority of people who perform work and assist our staff in the various initiatives sponsored by the Warwick Area Farmworkers Organization. We are looking for people who are willing to selflessly volunteer their knowledge, expertise, and skills to those most in need within our community by donating your time to helping out at programs and events.
We need volunteers for various programs and initiatives. Some are fixed events or one time programs that are constrained to a specific time, date, and goal. An example of this would be a charity fundraiser event, a public healthcare clinic, or a holiday celebration luncheon. Some events and programs are more perpetual and need individuals willing to commit to weekly programs, classes, and roles in the organization. Examples of these are our various clubs, weekly classes, daycare, and our food bank pantry. Others are annual in nature and run for a fixed period weekly or daily, but tend to need new volunteers for each period they are ran each year. Examples of these would be our summer enrichment, after school tutoring, and job skills training programs. No matter how little or many hours a week (or year) you can donate we probably have a need you can assist us with. No contribution of time or skills is too small or big. Everyone matters to the success of our programs and we are highly appreciative to all who volunteer to help whether it be one time or many times.
If wish to help out please download and complete our WAFO Application for Volunteer form and email it to us. Our staff will get back to you and work with you to find a role best suited to your skills and availability.
Thank you in advance for your interest in volunteering and your willingness to help out migrant farmworkers and their families!
