The Warwick Area Farmworkers Organization (WAFO) was established in 1959 by the Orange County Council of Churches as a ecumenical migrant worker outreach ministry meant to serve the migrant workers of the Warwick Valley New York region. Since then, the organization has evolved and changed over the past seven decades with the current WAFO organization still focusing on supporting the migrant farmworker community through various low cost or no cost programs such as the Dulce Esperanza Summer program.

From very the beginning of our organization’s inception, the social and physical welfare of migrant farmworker families have been a priority part of our organizational focus.  All our programs are dependent on voluntary financial donations received through various private or public funding partners.

Today the Warwick Area Farmworker Organization is private non-profit organization that is still dedicated to serving the many needs of migrant farm workers and their families through a number of low cost/ no cost enrichment and care programs including after school care and enrichment, summer enrichment camp, and community outreach programs. The Warwick Area Farmworker Organization (WAFO) continues the work started by the original Orange County Council of Churches nearly 70 years ago and at the same time expands its reach, as well as, its impact on the lives of those most in need in our Warwick Valley area who are part of the migrant farm worker community.
