The Warwick Area Migrant Committee (WAMC), established in 1959 by the Orange County Council of Churches, has served as the lead agency for the summer program. This organization has had as part of the original mission from the beginning, care of children from farmworker families. Our programs are dependent on donations received.
In May 2021 the WAMC established its subsidiary organization, the Warwick Area Farmworker Organization, to focus specifically as a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of migrant farm workers and their families through a number of program including after school care and enrichment, summer enrichment camp, and community outreach programs. The Warwick Area Farmworker Organization (WAFO) continues the work started by the WAMC and expands it reach, as well as, its impact on the lives of those most in need in our area who are part of the migrant farm worker community.
