WAFO and Sun River Health are excited to host the art exhibition, “Colores de mi tierra” by the Oaxacan artist, Eduardo Guzman Valverde at the Alamo Community Center in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibition will be held at 890 Pulaski Hwy in Goshen NY (directions can be found here), on Sunday, October 6th from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm.
This event is open to the public. Community members will have a chance to explore the multiple programs that WAFO has to offer, including youth and adult programs, volunteer opportunities, and community and cultural connection.
Eduardo Guzman Valverde, born in Oaxaca, Mexico, in October 1954, is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist with over 20 years of experience and a deep passion for painting that has been evident since childhood. His remarkable creativity allows him to transform dreams and ideas into vibrant artworks that reflect the rich folklore and traditions of his homeland. Primarily using oil on linen, Valverde’s pieces shine with a brilliant array of colors, captivating a wide range of audiences. Throughout his distinguished career, he has organized numerous exhibitions exploring various themes, such as “The Folklore of My People,” “Rite and Magic,” “Marine Fantasies,” “Music Is…,” and “Between Mixtures.” Since 1997, he has held 31 solo exhibitions in galleries and public spaces, and his work has been showcased across North America.
