Jobeth Leon joins the Warwick Area Farmworker Organization as the Outreach Coordinator. She will assist Kathy Brieger in organizing the Community Health Worker Team as well as the Outreach for Youth activities. Her outreach to farmworker families will include the parents for youth attending the programs, including Dulce Esperanza.
Jobeth has a unique skill set which will support the work and impact of WAFO. She started as a volunteer for WAFO assisting with outreach and a farm mapping projects. Prior to joining WAFO, she lived in two different countries and two different states before settling in Warwick, NY with her two children and husband.
During her experience abroad, she worked as an English Instructor and eventually completed a Master’s in Psychology: Evaluation and Assessment from the University of Luxembourg. This led to a job as an HR Officer for a training and development team in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual setting. Her real aspirations were always to collaborate with people on a more personal level which led her to begin seeking a job where she could work with a person or family to have access to the services they need.
