March is National Nutrition Month and the Warwick Area Farmworker Organization recognizes the importance that farmworkers play in getting healthy, fresh foods on our plates. Agriculture plays an important role locally in Orange County New York, but these local agricultural businesses could not do this without the farmers and agricultural workers on the farms. Please remember to support Orange County New York agriculture businesses and the workers who make this possible by “eating local” when you purchase food at the grocery store, farmers markets and other local markets including the farms themselves.
To learn more about how the Warwick Area Farmworker Organization helps to feed the agricultural workers community through our Food Security Programs read the flyers below (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format– viewable in most web browsers). WAFO also works to provide nutrition education and information on chronic conditions like diabetes that have a direct relationship with the foods we eat by educating the farmworkers community through various nutritional education workshops.
Please consider supporting our WAFO nutritional education and food security programs by donating to us through this website.
