A couple of the WAMC Summer Enrichment Program students had their first tooth fall out during the course of day these past few weeks while at the Program. This gave the students and staff a chance to celebrate the Hispanic cultural tradition of El Ratoncito Pérez! The children taught the WAMC teachers and staff about El Ratoncito Pérez, which is similar to the American tradition of the Tooth Fairy. When a child’s tooth falls out the tooth is placed under the pillow that night. While the child sleep a rat comes and takes away the tooth. The rat replaces the tooth with money or a gift. The WAMC children and staff had a great time celebrating this great cultural tradition!
