Playground time is always a great time!

After a long stretch of rainy and hot/humid days in Pine Island, New York; the students at the Warwick Area Migrant Committee Summer Program finally got some time outside on the Pine Island Elementary School playground this past week. The cooler sunny weather was great for outdoor activities and the kids were eager to get outside to play.

Free play is essential for children of all ages. Early on it helps with coordination and small motor skills. Later on it is important for social interaction and exercise. Across the board it helps children of all ages leverage their imagination and creativity, as well as, gives the kids a chance to get to known others in the program better.
